Rava Kesari
Ingredients:
Preparation:
- 1 Cup of White Rava
- 1 1/2 to 2 Cups of Sugar
- 5-6 Peeled Cardamom Pods (Powder)
- 15-20 Cashew Nuts
- 15-20 Raisins
- 3/4 Cup of Ghee
- A Pinch of Kesari Food Color
- 1/2 Cup of Milk (boiled)
- 3 Cups of Water
Preparation:
- Heat 1 table spoon of ghee in a thick bottomed wide pan, fry the cashew nuts and raisins in a low flame till it turns golden brown color and keep them aside.
- Add another table spoon of ghee in the same pan and fry the white rava in a medium flame until the smell of rava leaves
- In the same pan heat 3 cups of water, when it comes to a boiling stage add a pinch of kesari food color
- Add the rava slowly, and stir well without forming lumps (Stir it constantly)
- Cook the rave well at medium heat.
- When it is fully cooked, add the sugar slowly and stir well without forming lumps. (Stir it constantly)
- When it become thick paste, add the boiled milk, stir well
- In a semi solid state add ghee. Keep stirring until the rava will become thick (it starts leaving the sides of the pan)
- Finally add cardamom powder, cashew nuts & raisins.
- Now you can serve this hot & heart melting sweet Kesari.
